Huperzine— New hope for Alzheimers patients Small gains in memory can mean a lot to Alzheimer's patients and their caregivers. Preliminary experiments suggest that the new herbal supplement Huperzine may enhance mental function and improve patients' lives. Huperzine is a naturally occurring compound found in club moss (Huperzia serrata), a plant used in traditional Chinese herbal medicine for fever and inflammation. Chinese researchers have discovered that a purified and standardized extract enhances memory and learning in animals, including monkeys. In human studies, the compound has been shown to increase clear-headedness, memory and language ability in a significant percentage of Alzheimer’s patients. Malic Acid for Fibromyalgia Malic Acid is a cofactor in the production of cellular energy. Studies show that Malic Acid reduces pain and inflammation. Malic Acid is indicated for symptoms associated with Alzheimer’s, senile dementia, MS, fibromyalgia, muscular dystrophy and chronic fatigue syndrome. Malic Acid assists in the removal of heavy metal toxins. Magnesium for Migraines Make sure you're getting at least 800 to 1,000 mg of magnesium daily to reduce the frequency and intensity of migraines. Research has shown that individuals who experience frequent migraine attacks are likely to have low levels of magnesium in the brain. Salmon Oil for Migraines Add Organika Salmon oil capsules to your supplement plan. Salmon oil contains omega-3 essential fatty acids which block the production of prostaglandins while increasing the production of anti-inflammatory prostaglandins. They also enhance the blood flow by making the blood less sticky. Take 2 capsules a day for migraine prevention, or up to 6 capsules a day if you are prone to frequent migraines. Feverfew for Migraines Studies have shown that Feverfew, Tanacetum parthenium, reduces the release of serotonin and the production of prostaglandin, both of which can contribute to the onset of migraine headaches. Give it a four to six month trial, as it may take awhile before you begin to notice improvement. Flora’s Migranon provides a high quality standardized extract of feverfew with the required amount of the active ingredient Pathenolide for optimum effectiveness. Amino L-Carnitine for Fat Metabolism Amino L-Carnitine provides a high amount of L-Carnitine along with other amino acids necessary for the conversion of fat into energy. Carnitine reduces fat and triglyceride levels in blood, increases oxygen absorption, and stress tolerance. Supplementation of Amino L-Carnitine improves the utilization fat, and reduces elevated cholesterol levels without damaging the liver. - Nemat Sobhani |
