MIGRAINES Only Migraine sufferers know what a migraine attack feels like. The throbbing pain, the black spot in front of the eyes, and the persistent regularity of it all has driven many people - including the anti-drug types - to harsh pharmaceuticals, all with little if any success. In the health food stores recently have appeared a line of all-herbal and very effective creams by a German company called DermaMed. DermaMed puts out a migraine balm called Migracell. Migracell has an abortive as well as a prophylactic effect in migraines and headaches without any side effects. It regulates the altered immune response common with migraines, activates the brain opiate system and controls the pain. Another benefit of Migracell is that it inhibits the contractile response of the vascular smooth muscle thereby relieving vasospasms and improving the brain circulation that is always diminished during a migraine attack. Migracell also stops the inflammatory response around the neurovascular system of the brain that is responsible for the migraine pain through its anti-inflammatory action. PSORIASIS Natural medicine investigators devoted their time and
effort for long years, searching the nature looking for a
New Hope for psoriasis patients. Finally, DermaMed
researchers developed PhytoCort Psoriasis Cream, a
completely natural product that effectively clears psoriasis
without any side effects.
EYE HEALTH Recently, many products for eye health have appeared on health supplement shelves. Most of these consist solely of bilberry extract. While the anthocyanidins in bilberry extract are indeed beneficial to the eyes, the synergistic effect of a wide variety of anthocyanidins is far more valuable in terms of supporting optimal vision. Lutein A carotenoid from the marigold flower, which actively cuts the risk of blindness due to age-related macular degeneration. The antioxidant properties of lutein are also of benefit in helping to prevent cataracts. Bilberry Bilberries (Vaccinium myrtillus) have long been recognized for their role in eye health. In World War II, British Royal Air Force pilots reported enhanced night-time vision after eating bilberry jam. In Europe, bilberry extracts are now regularly prescribed by the medical profession to help various eye disorders, including night blindness, cataracts, retinitis pigmentosa, and diabetic retinopathy.iii Grape Seed & Ginkgo Biloba Grape Seed contains the active principles known as leucoanthocyanins. These potent antioxidants improve the strength and integrity of the blood vessels, including the smaller vessels that supply the eye. Grape seed extract has been shown to improve visual capacity, including enhancement of night vision and prevention of age-related and diabetic cataracts. Ginkgo Biloba exerts a protective effect on the retina and has a potential in the prevention of eye disorders such as age-related cataracts, macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. Ginkgo may achieve these effects through increasing blood flow in the tiny blood vessels of the eye. Extract of Ginkgo Biloba is used extensively throughout Europe in the treatment of visual impairment. - Nemat Sobhani
